That’s a common question that I’m happy to answer so you can be part of the monthly teleseminars offered here at Gift Basket Radio.
A teleseminar is a live learning event presented on the telephone to you by a person or company representative.
It’s an alternative education method, a method that’s both convenient and affordable because you receive information by phone in the comfort of your home or other facility without the need for travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses associated with in-person conferences and events.
It’s easy to be part of a teleseminar. You pick up the phone, dial a number provided to you by the person presenting the event, enter a special code number when prompted, and you are instantly at the teleseminar with other people (you don’t hear all the others on the phone, as that would be distracting) listening to the presentation.
Teleseminars are offered free of charge or for a fee (paid). Both are accessed by phone in the same manner with the exception of providing payment ahead of time for the fee-based event.
Once payment is received, the telephone number to call and special access code are sent to you by Email so you can listen to the host during the live call. What you receive in the Email are:
- Name/Topic of the event
- Day of the event
- Time of the event
- Telephone number to call
- Special access code number (also known as a conference code)
Here’s an example of what you receive from me by Email when enrolling in one of my teleseminars:

Hello Sarah,
Thank you for investing in the teleseminar, How I Made the Leap from Struggling Entrepreneur to Million Dollar Designer, and How You Can, Too.
Here’s the information to attend the call.
Day: Thursday, December 9, 2010
Time: 8:15 pm EST
Dial-in Number: 217-837-4900
Conference Code: 683489#
Before you dial in, be sure to have pen and paper handy so you’re ready to take notes to increase your business success.
Also, come with your questions! We’ll have a Q&A directly after the program so your specific problems are solved.
I look forward to our conversation!
To your success,
Shirley
Be sure to put the day, time, telephone number, and access code on your calendar so you remember when to call to be part of the live event and attend by phone.
When the day and time arrive, call the telephone number about five minutes before the teleseminar starts to make sure you don’t miss the call or have problems entering the call line. If lots of people are calling the same number and entering the same access code all at once, there is sometimes a delay in getting on the line, so calling a few minutes ahead of time is wise.
When you call the phone number, a recorded voice welcomes you to the call and requests that you enter or “key in” the special code number for that specific event which includes pressing the pound symbol (always remember to press the # key at the end after entering the special code number). Once that’s done, you are now part of the live teleseminar call, waiting for the host to start the event.
Don’t hang up if you don’t at first hear anything. Silence is normal to hear before the teleseminar begins.
Now you know all about teleseminars, what it is, why it’s a great alternative learning method, and how to participate. All the stress of what to do and what to expect are gone, and you can join me on the phone in the comfort of your home for the next event which you’ll find by clicking this link for the home page.
Have your questions ready after the teleseminar. I look forward to welcoming you on the line!
